Soy Hortensia Mínguez García, Dra. en Grabado y sistemas de estampación por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia en España. Actualmente, dirijo una investigación de grabado como responsable del Grupo de Investigación "Gráfica Contemporánea" y como profesora de tiempo completo de la Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México donde actualmente trabajo.

I'm Hortensia Mínguez Garcia, Dra. in Engraving and printmaking by the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia in Spain. Currently, i'm addressing an engraving investigation as responsible of the group of investigation "Contemporary Graphic" and as a professor at the Universidad Autónoma of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico where i'm actually working.

Dicha investigación, titulada: "Teoría de las nuevas variantes de la gráfica contemporánea: del grabado matérico al grabado conceptual, (1925-2007)", tiene como objetivo realizar un libro con ISBN donde se exponga, a partir de las mismas experiencias de los profesionales de este campo a nivel internacional, una nueva teoría del arte gráfico afín a nuestro tiempo con una categorización que incorpore, a la visión clásica, cada una de las nuevas variantes artísticas nacidas desde principios del S. XX hasta la actualidad a partir de la hibridación o fusión de ésta con otras disciplinas, técnicas, métodos, procedimientos, soportes o plataformas de trabajo.

The investigation, entitled "Theory of new variants of the contemporary graphic: From the relieve printmaking to the Conceptual Engraving, (1925-2007)", this aims to make a book with ISBNs where outlining, from the experiences of professionals in this art at the international level, the creation of a new theory of the graphical art with an essential categorization of this discipline, incorporating, to the classic vision, each one of the new artistic variants been born from the hybridization or multidisciplinary fusion with other forms or methods of creation, as: the relieve printmaking, the sculptural one, the objetual, and the conceptual one, the electrographic, the digital engraving, its union with multimedia, the instalations and Internet.

Les hago saber, asimismo que dicha investigación fue aprobada en octubre del 2007 y apoyada económicamente durante dos años por la Universidad de Ciudad Juárez de Chihuahua y el Sistema Nacional de Mejoramiento de Profesorado (PROMEP)

That research was approved in October 2007 and financially supported for two years by the University of Ciudad Juarez in Chihuahua and the National System for Improving Teachers (PROMEP) in Mexico.

En tal caso, para recabar información estamos realizando una serie de entrevistas y cuestionarios a grabadores relevantes y en activo.

En dicho sentido, les invito a participar dedicándonos parte de su tiempo a apoyarnos en este esfuerzo para mejorar la generación de conocimiento del campo de la gráfica contemporánea, rellenando el cuestionario de opinión que les adjuntamos tanto en castellano como en inglés que tendrían que remitirnos de nuevo a este mismo correo electrónico antes del viernes 1 de febrero así como su confirmación o negación a que su opinión sea o no utilizada para ser citada en dicha publicación .

In this case, to collect information we are managing series of interviews and questionnaires a relevant and active engravers. In that sense, I invite you to participate dedicating a little time to support us in this effort, to improve the knomledge's generation in the area of contemporary graphics. You can fill in the opinion questionnaire (Spanish and English) we are sending you in this mail. When you answer all the questions you can please send us back this form to the same e-mail before Friday Febreary 1, telling us if your opinion can be used or not in the publication.
